In China, many people believe that some numbers can bring good luck, while some are often connected with misfortune. For example, number 6 in China usually means “doing things smoothly”, number 8 means “make a fortune”, and number 10 means “prefect”. While the number such as 4, usually means “death” because its pronunciation is similar with the Chinese character Si. Therefore, the superstitious people will try their best not to choose telephone numbers or car plate numbers or door numbers which are contain with 4. And the people usually will not have their wedding on 4th. People believe those numbers have magic power, which can bring them good luck or bad luck.
在中國(guó),許多人相信一些數(shù)字能給人帶來(lái)好運(yùn)氣,而另一些則不太吉利。比如說(shuō),數(shù)字6在中國(guó)表示“六六大順”;數(shù)字8表示“掙大錢,大家發(fā)”,數(shù)字10則表示“十全十美”。而數(shù)字4,因?yàn)槠浒l(fā)音與中文中的“死”字相近,所以被認(rèn)為不吉利。因此,迷信的人們盡量避免自己的電話號(hào)碼、車牌號(hào)碼或是門(mén)牌號(hào)碼含有數(shù)字4,人們通常也不會(huì)在4號(hào)舉行婚禮。他們相信,這些數(shù)字是有魔力的,能給人帶來(lái)好運(yùn)氣或壞運(yùn)氣。
In my humble opinion, I do not think these so-called lucky numbers can bring people good luck. Number stand for nothing but quantity. They are only some arbitrary symbols used for communication. Our ancestors created numbers for counting, not for luck. People believe number 8 can bring good fortune is only because the pronunciation of eight has almost the same sound of “fa cai” in Cantonese. The ironic part is the people who choose the number on purpose do not always make big money, while the people whose telephone numbers or car plate numbers contain 4 do not kick their buckets. Shakespeare said, “If we call a rose by any other name, it would smell sweet as well.” This means there is no connection between sound and meaning. So it’s no good to believe that number has something to do with the luck.

To sum up, we should believe in our personal ability instead of so-called lucky numbers, as a proverb goes, “Man proposes, God disposes.”

first, college students have limited spare time and stocks dealing cost their energy and time. by taking health and lacking in related knowldge into account, it is suggested that students should leave stock market.
second, dealing in stocks means bearing great economic risks.if they lose much money in the stocks market, perhaps they cannot adjust their mind and afford the loss hence incurred.it may be deal to serious results.
the last, college students dealing in stocks is likely to make problems for their parents.
from what has been discussed above, we may reasonably come to the conclusion that college students should not deal in stocks.

However, my college life is totally different from the life in high school.I can arrange my time freely. My teachers in college are so kind and knowledgeable that they not only teach us knowledge but also how to be a person and how to get on with others. At one time or another, most of us will come to a point in our lives when it’s time to determine our next step. As a business and success coach, I often hear from people who are wondering if it’s time to make a change in their lives. Things may be going well, or not-so-well, but for whatever reason, they’re thinking that it’s time for change. They come to me for help figuring out what’s next in their career.
Most people are not in jobs that they planned and studied for. As a matter of fact, it’s pretty clear that many people are in careers that just “happened.” They started working at a job thinking it was going to be something they’d do until they decided what they really wanted to get involved in, and then they just stayed around until it became a kind of career.
In other cases, individuals are in jobs or professions based on the guidance or encouragement of other people in their lives. Perhaps their parents always wanted a doctor in the family. Maybe their boyfriend or wife kept telling them they were capable of “better” things and needed to get moving on their career. My point is this: Regardless of how they got to where they are now, it wasn’t, for most of the population, a well thought-out plan that was skillfully executed.
In my coaching practice, I’ve learned that this situation often translates into people doing work that really isn’t right for them personally. They may be doing okay, but they sure don’t bound out of bed looking forward to getting to work each day.
We are all more successful when we are doing things we enjoy. To help clients decide what that may be, I ask them a few questions designed to get them to take an honest look at who they are at their core.
For those of you who’ve been thinking, “Maybe I should make the move into management,” I’ve put together this list of 10 warning signals. If any of these hit you as your personal reality, the chances are that you are not cut out to be a manager.

nowadays an increasing number of students flats have tv receivers installed in them. tv presents a vivid world in front of tudents. boys could enjoy sports games at will. some programs help students recharge (再充電) their knowledge and keep them abreast of(跟上) modern developments. tv receivers enrich their learning life.
obviously, students are not free from any troubles. some students are addicted to(沉溺于) tv. tv receivers in some flats are still on late at night or never turned off on weekends. some students spend much spare time watching tv programs, which is seriously interfering with their responsibilities at school. still some students eyes are getting worse.
in my opinion, moderation (適度,適可而止) is the key to everything including watching tv programs. i would not recommend that students try to eliminate tv receivers totally from their flats. however, we need to strike some kind of a balance between the tv programs and school studies. learning to successfully manage time at a young age will definitely pay off in later life.
