Difficulties, like a stone in my path, I must exert all my strength to keep going. However, because the road is different, the difficulty is different. My life will be filled with many obstacles, but these difficulties will not let me give in, but let me learn how to overcome difficulties.
When I was seven years old, I was very timid. In the evening, I must be accompanied by my mother to go to sleep in my room and sleep peacefully under my mother's escort. My mother gave me a way to overcome this difficulty.
That day, my mother said to me, "you have grown up and should be able to sleep on your own."
I said, "it's dark at night, how terrible it is! Maybe there will be a ghost that pops up and grabs me. At that time, you would lose such a beautiful daughter." My mother felt my hair and smiled and said, "silly daughter, there is nothing in this world. Believe in yourself, you can sleep on your own, you are no small." I decided to sleep.
At night, my mother said to me, "I've taught you a very effective way to count. You can fall asleep from a count to a hundred." I was dubious about my mother's words. Can I sleep on my own? I decided to give it a try. The light was so dark in the room that I was so frightened that I thought of what my mother had said to me: "you have grown up." I thought of this, and suddenly became brave. After a while I fell asleep.
Difficult, no big deal, just go brave face to overcome, can get this block of stone successful throw far away.

leisure--an anachronism?
the other day i asked my nine year old younger brother what he liked to do for fun in his leisure time. he seemed to regard it as an odd question. "i don't actually have much leisure time." he said."homework, tennis lessons and piano lessons.., eat it all up. i have three piano lessons a week now."
i was startled. i used to consider it was only gown ups who were suffering from great pressure. now the modern competitive world seems to have worked on children alike. i do not think kids have as much fun as they used to. competition keeps getting in the way. leisure seems to have become a luury.
according to a recent survey, more than 80 percent of americans complain that they do not have the time to do what they really want to do, let alone enjoy the leisure time. it is a tragedy. we live in a constraint state, unable to pursue our interests.the so-called past pace of information society has made most people feel uncomfortable. computer, microwave, gimmicks and gadgets, all these appliances require far more complicated knowledge and techniques than ever before. and just to feel more secure about their relationship with technology, people make great efforts to follow the heels of the latest inventions, weary, reluctant and unhappy.
i know lots of people who avoid recreation because they lack the time or the energy.achievement is the national god, worshipped in our mediathe million dollar athlete, the wealthy ecutiveand glorified in our praise of possessions. in the presence of such a influential state religion, how can people ever "waste" their valuable time on taking up such "etravagance" as leisure when they could have learned or earned more during that period?
ambition, drive and the desire to ecel are all great within limits, but we should not allow them to be the whole story of our life.sometimes we should forget about doing best all the time, focusing on relaation, enjoyment, and health.for the purpose of not collapsing under enormous pressure, an occasional break from our daily routine is necessary. we can make stress work for us instead of against us.

Why It Is Difficult ron College Students to Find Jobs?(大學(xué)生求職為何難?)
1.描述現(xiàn)狀;
2.分析原因;
More and more college students, in recent years, are finding it difficult to find jobs。 This may sound strange since college students used to be the "most favored" people in society。 They have received a higher education, hence they are more intelligent, knowledgeable than their counterparts who failed to attend college。 But chances are that some of themcan hardly find jobs after graduating from colleges。
There are two reasons that account for this strange phenomenon。 One is that some college students cannot come to terms with themselves and with the world around them。 They pursue too high goals and are too particular about such factors as working conditions, salary, and so on。 Therefore, they are reluctant to accept the job when they are offered to them。 Another reason is that the majors some students pursue do not match with the demands of the job market。 As a result, they canonly sit and miss opportunities。
To solve this problem, I think college students should know their own strengths and weaknesses and have the right attitude towards themselves and the job vacancies。 In addition, they should not attach too much importance to material aspects of the job。 They
should put priority to their future development and their contributions to society in stead。 Furthermore, they should think of receiving some further training to meet the demands of society。
One day thirty years ago Marseilles lay in the burning sun. A blazing sun upon a fierce August day was no greater rarity in southern France then than at any other time before or since. Everything in Marseilles and about Marseilles had stared at the fervid sun, and been stared at in return, until a staring habit had become universal there. Strangers were stared out of countenance by staring white houses, staring white streets, staring tracts of arid road, staring hills from which verdure was burnt away. The only things to be seen not fixedly staring and glaring were the vines drooping under their loads of grapes. These did occasionally wink a little,as the hot air barely moved their faint leaves.
The universal stare made the eyes ache. Towards the distant blue of the Italian coast, indeed, it was a little relieved by light clouds of mist slowly rising from the evaporation of the sea, but it softened nowhere else. Far away the staring roads, deep in dust, stared from the hillside, stared from the hollow, stared fi'om the interminable plain. Far away the dusty vines overhanging wayside cottages, and the monotonous wayside avenues of parched trees without shade, dropped beneath the stare of earth and sky. So did the horse with drowsy bells, in long files of carts, creeping slowly towards the interior; so did their recumbent drivers, when they were awake, which rarely happened; so did the exhausted laborers in the fields. Everything that lived or grew was oppressed by the glare: except the lizard, passing swiftly over rough stone walls, and cicada, chirping its dry hot chirp, like a rattle. The very dust was scorched brown, and something quivered in the atmosphere as if the air itself were panting.
Blinds, shutters, curtains, awnings, were all closed and drawn to keep out the stare. Grant it but a chink or a keyhole, and it shot in like a whitehot arrow.
parks are my favorite places to go. bathed in the warm and gentle sunshine, i lie on the lawn, holding a poetry book in my hand to read. occasionally, my attention is drawn away from the book to the scene around me, which is unique in spring.thought therere birds singing, grass swinging, and flowers smiling, one sharp white figure is gradually taking up my whole view. its a girl, dressed in a white gown, walking slowly to wards me. breeze brushes my face, and carries the aroma from the girl.
she is strolling down the path while her figure is rising and falling so smoothly and peacefully. the rhythm of her move ments composes an elaborate melody. her soft hair flows down to her waist, on which the sunshine casts a light of ring. the gown outlines her pretty curves. her skin looks so delicate that it, im sure, must feel as smooth as silk.
now she is in my reach, only a foot from me. my heart beating in ecitement, i swiftly jump up, and bow a little just in the way gentlemen do, motioning a greeting to her. as a response, she turns around and gives me a smile, which reveals her gentleness a desirable character, not judged by appearance but fully perceived by what you find in her eyes. she continues walking and soon is out of sight, but im still there, realizing that there is really something left inscribed in my heart.
例如,在作者眼中,the rhythm of her movements composes an elaborate melody;her skin looks so delicate that it,im sure, must feel as smooth as silk等。

Environmental Pollution
the problem of pollution, cause, artificial substances, release, waste products, industrial production, consumption of goods, bring it under control, agriculture, chemicalsubstancea。
Environmental Pollution
I read a piece of news recently。 It says that in Japan marly businessmen ave selling fresh air to customers。and now it is becoming more and more popular。 Why? --Fresh air is getting less and less in Japan, and so is it in the U。 S。 A。
In fact, environmental pollution is a very serious problem the whole world is facing。
it is mainly caused by the waste products released from artificial substances, industrial
production and increased consumption of goods。 Bedsides, the use of chemical substances
in agriculture also causes environmental pollution。Look at the sky, you can see that dense smoke is being released from the high and big chimneys; those dirty and poisonous substances are flowing into the rivers that we use for drinking water and millions of tons of waste products are heaping around us。
How to change this condition? More and more countries are trying to work out some effective means to bring it under control, but no great success has been made。

My Thoughts on the University Arts Festival
For our university‘s arts festival, I think that the university should hold open competitionsand auditions for anyone who wants to take part in the festival‘s exhibitions and performances. This would not only increase general interest in and appreciation for the arts, but would alsobe a good way for our university to show its support for the arts.
This arts festival is an excellent opportunity to remind everyone that arts are important foreveryone to appreciate and take part in, regardless of major.
I think that there should be general, open auditions and competitions in all the major arts. There should be categories for painting and sculpture; classical, folk and modem dance; andinstrumental and choral groups, both large and small. The judges should be joint committeesmade up of both faculty and Students, both experts in the field and novices. Arranging thefestival in this way will, I believe, give our student body a greater enjoyment of the arts, a breakfrom studies and a fuller appreciation for what it means to be human.
In recent years, distant education has generally beenbrought into the public focus. A large number of universities have offered opencourses on the internet. However, just as the saying goes, “so many people, somany minds.” People from different backgrounds take divergent views concerningthis case.
Those who have already benefited from practicing itsing high praise of it. They come up with the attitude that distant educationhas provided a wider way for students to learn various cultures around all overthe world. It is a more convenient way for students to broaden their horizon. However, there are also some others who contend that various kinds of opencourses on the internet will bring some chaos to students. Students who areexposed to too many different courses and cultures will have difficulty indistinguishing the passive ones and the opposite.
Taking into consideration both sides of the issue, Iam inclined to be on the side of the former opinion. I strongly approve of themotion that distant education is a convenient and important way for students toget in touch with foreign culture, especially for those who major in foreignlanguage learning. But at the same time, I also advocate that students shouldpay more attention to choose proper subjects rather than accept them entirely.
