Review 1a in Section A and ask students to act the dialogue out according to the key words.(could, come from, pen pal, help) 2. Take out a letter to lead to the new section. Learn and master the new word “l(fā)ive’’ T: This is a letter. It’s from my friend, Sam. He is my pen pal. Now he lives in England. Step 2 Lead in 1. Ask and answer between the teacher and students about this letter. For example: T: Who is the letter from? Ss: It’s from Sam. T: Yes, it’s from my pen pal, Sam. Does he live in China now? Ss: No, he doesn’t. He lives in England. T: Yes, you are right. 2. The teacher show the picture of the Great Wall and quotes the sentence from the letter. Learn and master the new words and phrases: say, wall, live, great and the Great Wall ,visit T: Can you say it in English? Ss: Yes, the Great Wall. T: Where is it? Ss: It’s in China. T: Do you live in China? Ss: Yes, I do. T: Is China great? Ss: Yes, it is. T: Do you like the Great Wall? Ss:Yes, I do. T: Do you want to visit the Great Wall? Ss:Yes, I do. Step 3 Presentation and consolidation 1. Talk about the picture in 1a T: Who are they? Ss: They are Jane and Kangkang. T: Does Kangkang have a round face? Ss: Yes, he does. T: Does Jane have long hair? Ss: Yes, she does. T: Does Kangkang have a letter in his hand? Ss: Yes, he does. T: Who is the letter from? Let’s listen to the tape and then find the answer. Who is the letter from? 2. Mark True or False. (1)Sam is Kangkang’s pen pal. ( ) (2)Sam speaks Chinese. ( ) (3)Sam says he wants to visit the Great Wall. ( ) 3. Read in roles and act it out 4.
