After look up the dictionary I understand it’s means praise oneself, call attention to one’s skill, intelligence, or success, boast. This phrase is use in American slang. In English there is a same meaning phrase “blowing one’ own trumpet”. And I ‘m feel puzzled in the words “immune”. For looks up the dictionary I learned its means unable to be harmed because of special qualities in oneself. I’min a puzzle about the last sentence in paragraph eight. Rivalry means competition, the condition of being a rival or rivals. It has more strong tone than competition. Thought there have same meaning practically.
